For Wool Week 2020 we had planned to host a joyous event in store celebrating sheep farming, spinning, and the weaving of wool. Sadly this is now not possible, so we’ve done the next best thing and brought the stars of the event to you. We know you’d love to hear the conversations, so we have created three videos for you to watch at your leisure. Obviously, the fun of a party is dressing up and meeting new friends, so perhaps you could wear something special for the hell of it this evening or even talk to a passing stranger. I find wearing a garment made with care always uplifting especially if came from our ovine friends and soon we will be able to flock together again.

Our first conversation is with Naomi Greenland and Kirsty McDougall, our very own Dashing design team. They are talking about the fascinating way that design ideas become manifest in woven fabrics.

Our next conversation is with John Taylor and Jo Burrows, the sheep farmers who approached us with a desire to turn their fleeces into fashion.

Hear how they found Dashing Tweeds and what they learnt along the way.

Our last conversation is in collaboration with the Campaign for Wool and focuses on the British textile industry.

We are joined by stalwarts Peter Ackroyd from the Campaign for Wool, Bruce Calverley from Brierley Brothers yarn spinners and Robbie Trussler and Stevie Tweddle from Drove Weaving as well as our  own Holly Pressdee rounding them up.

The discussion over zoom gives you a chance to hear directly from experienced British manufacturers and learn about the use of British wool, British manufacturing and the future of our textile industry.

Our aim at Dashing Tweeds is to have fun with design, colour and cloth. Working with the best British manufacturers is an absolute pleasure. We want to be as transparent as possible, and if you have any questions about our supply chain, do get in contact.

We also have a range of other fun videos to watch on our YouTube channel, so do check these out, click here.
