Spring is teasing us at the moment with the odd flash of sunshine. Soon summer will come and it will most likely be a hot one.  It may seem surprising, but fine Merino wool is ideal to wear in the summer. Wool barely creases, keeps you cool during the day, warm at night and tailors so well. I often go for a short suit with extra trousers, giving a combination of five different looks.

Tommy wears a suit in our new Heron cloth, a 12oz Merino worsted wool which we tailored in a style made popular by rock ’n’ roll tailor Nutters. A long single breasted jacket featuring wide peak lapels, rope shoulders, slanting pockets and a single button fastening paired with stylishly shaped trousers.

It’s always amusing to play with proportions in tailoring so we’ve designed a double breasted suit with quite frankly, ridiculously wide lapels and white horn buttons that add an extra pop. The playful, relaxed nature of the suit in our blue Riley cloth is enhanced by patch side pockets and slim cut trousers.

As summers continue to get hotter, shorts suits are becoming increasingly popular and acceptable. We have tailored our fresh Lanyon check with knee length shorts and an unlined blazer, featuring patch pockets, a three button front and well proportioned notched lapels. If you are ever wondering what to wear to a tranquil garden party then this is the look for you.

As we are primarily a weave design studio, we enjoy working with a range of tailors and makers who bring new cuts to the fore. Collaborating with Collarbone London we bring you a cigar shirt in the Denim Blue Raver. The tightly woven fabric is ideal for the casual cut of the lightweight jacket, maintaining a good shape even with all the pockets full. I’ve really enjoyed mine on holiday when it easily held sunglasses, a paper back, phone and the odd cigar or two.

All our made to measure tailoring takes 6-8 weeks, and you can select any styling or cloth to suit your look.
