I do hope that you will be able to join us to celebrate the launch of our new season’s collection on the 7th October from 6pm – 9pm at 47 Dorset Street.

We have worked with the Formula One race champion Jacques Villeneuve this year. Using the colours of his iconic helmet we have designed three exciting tweeds and tailored a ready to wear range of jackets and accessories.

As well as being able to try on our new pieces we will also talk about how we worked with Jacques and the whole fleece to fashion journey. The wool dye samples, the design work and the woven test blanket will all be on display.

The evening will also be a chance to meet interesting characters who share a love of tweed and individuality.

In addition to the collaboration we are delving into the world of psychedelia. The pinwheel motif is reminiscent of op art created in the 1960’s when experimentation with mind bending drugs was common amongst artist communities.

Buzz is a green and navy pinwheel design. The verdant shade clearly shows the spiralling curlicue pattern which entices you to closer inspection, drawing you into the vibrant cloth. 100% wool, 345-375g/ 12-13oz.

We have taken a traditional shepherd’s check and twisted the edges to a vortex like pinwheel, then completed the design with a maroon overcheck. This striking pattern is named Trip. 100% wool 365-395g/ 12-13oz.

Purple Haze was released by Jimi Hendrix in the year of The Summer of Love, a colourful time of psychedelic experimentation, so it seems fitting to name the new purple cloth Haze. This tweed features the same pinwheel motif in a colour beloved by both royalty and mystics alike. 100% wool, 355-385g/ 12-13oz.

Bucking trends as usual, Dashing Tweeds are continuing to release heavy weight tweeds that drape in the most delightful way and last for years and years. The 26oz Donegal wool designs have proved so popular that we have designed a new colourway this season in a beautiful shade of mottled purple. Named Riona the classic basket weave design tailors into glorious coats giving joy for generations. 100% wool, 745-775g/ 26-27oz.

All these fabrics are available by the metre, or through our made to measure tailoring. We have also used them in our latest ready to wear collection.

As the days cool down, it’s a delight to wear cozy wool. There’s no nicer feeling than being warm on a crisp autumn day. Our lambswool jumpers are what you need. They are knitted for us in Scotland to colours which match our seasonal tweed designs. Not only will they give you a boost physically but also a psychological one. Research has shown that wearing colour boosts your mood. We have the clothes to take you to the next level.

It is also Wool Month in October, so we will be celebrating the use of wool throughout this collection as ever.
