Amidst all the turmoil of modern life marriage still seems to be in vogue. For better or for worse gathering all your friends and family around to witness your affirmation of love is a delightful thing to do. Choosing a partner who has the one in a million qualities you are looking for is no easy matter and it can be an exhausting and an expensive search leaving no stone unturned. So the last thing you need, once a nuptial date is settled, is another quest for suitable wear.

Back in the day, when I was a chance extra in Four Weddings and a Funeral, dressing for a wedding was an easy affair, you just dusted down your old morning suit, polished your shoes, brushed your top hat and off you’d go. For my own wedding I just added a new double breasted waistcoat tailored in duck egg blue.

Nowadays, many weddings seem to be slightly less formal affairs but it’s still important to dress up and cut a dash, after all you are dressing not just for yourself but to add to the atmosphere of the day; weddings are all about participation.

Whether you are the groom, father of the bride or a guest we have what you need.

Our more subdued wool worsteds such as Newton and Midnight tailor into fabulous suits for grooms and won’t upstage the bride. We recently tailored a beautiful three piece suit using the greener side of our Newton design and it was a great hit. Following the lead of Mick and Bianca Jagger getting married in matching cream suits is a very stylish idea. Our Opticks cloth with a subtle window pane check is a top choice and has already been seen at a couple of very joyous joinings.

Should you be on the more flamboyant side and want to make your wedding day a momentous colourful occasion to remember then we are definitely the people to come to. Our bespoke tailor can craft anything you fancy. Working with creative customers is such a pleasure as we can make their sartorial dreams come true. In our shop we have a large library of inspirational books as well as sample cuts from my archive. There’s an art to pushing boundaries whilst still maintaining a certain elegance, it’s a tightrope walk of style but we are here to make everything balance.

Many wedding guest codes now ask for you to wear something fresh and summery, a stipulation for which your old work suit certainly won’t do. Every summer we design gloriously original fine wool suitings which wear well in all weather conditions. We can tailor these for you into relaxed blazer suits or more formal cuts that remain timeless looks.

I was just thinking that if you are reading this then you are probably already a Dashing fan and know how much pleasure wearing our clothes gives you. I’m sure you must know others who would be delighted to wear Dashing and it would be greatly appreciated if you recommend them to come and see us, I’m sure they will be delighted and we would be most grateful to you. Our tailoring takes 6 weeks, so best to plan ahead!
