The season to be jolly is fast approaching. Soon ’Winter draws on’ will titter from radio repeats and sleigh bells will start following you from shop to shop. One of the joys of Christmas time is the predictability of it all, you can relax, go with the flow, fit in as many drinks parties as possible and enjoy finding rare treats and presents for your loved ones.

The joy for Dashing, is that wool comes to the fore as the nights draw in. Stories of sheep and shepherds enter conversation as we reach for woolly favourites from the wardrobe hoping that the moths have not made them more holey.

As the year comes to a close, it’s a wonderful time to think about giving back—to others and to the planet. Wool is one of the most sustainable materials for clothing, and purchasing it also means supporting communities across the world.

On Wednesday 20th November, we’re teaming up with Christina Noble and her enterprise, Miyar Mufflers, which supports rural women in the Northwest Himalayas. These skilled knitters from the Pir Panjal range hand-spin wool from hardy native sheep, crafting beautiful, authentic mufflers, scarves and throws that are perfect for any season.

I’m always grateful for mine when a sudden chill blows in! This collaboration offers you the chance to buy these unique, handcrafted pieces and directly support communities in need.

As the evenings get darker we all need more colour in our lives and this season we’ve gone wild by any standards. We’ve used the early days of rave as the sounding board for our seasonal collection, sampling fluro greens, oranges and blues to create a cacophony of pattern which has received a rapturous applause. To vibe with our cloth designs we’ve knitted a range of jumpers and cooked up a collection of wonderful woven scarves, all which will be available on the night.

Join us for some drinks and mince pies from 6pm – 8pm, and curate a range of beautiful gifts for your loved ones, along with some other crafty treats from other local makers.
