We have created a capsule collection this season, a few ideas to inspire you when having something made through our made to measure service. To paraphrase Martini “Any time, any place, any wear.”
All good stories start the night before and so with us. Our dinner suit is an entertaining disruptive houndstooth jacquard woven in a silk cotton mix.
Predominantly navy and black with the houndstooth motifs highlighted in a fine electric blue silk the overall effect is of a traditional black tie dinner suit having been given a reviving shock. The one button jacket has the peak lapel facings in a classic silk grosgrain and features elegant slanted jetted pockets also piped in black silk. The cuffs have 4 working covered buttons and in keeping with the earliest cut of dinner suits has no vents at the back. The trousers have one British inward facing pleat and the classic trouser stripe in a black grosgrain which always looks so elegant and delineates a dinner suit.
The overall effect from a distance is of a fashionable tuxedo but as you mingle with friends they will be envious of the amusingly intricate fabric design.
As you awake basking in memories of the delightful night flowing with burgundy and bon mots it may well be the time to dress in a relatively sober suit for town.
However, this need not be a drab affair and our Square Kink suit treads the fine path between tweed and town. The three piece suit in our grey Merino wool with a fine Donegal wool overcheck comprises a two button single breasted jacket with a peak lapel and three button cuff. The trousers with a single pleat are cut with a classic straight leg and look effortlessly wearable when teamed with the simple 5 button waistcoat. The whole suit whilst not intended to be worn as a ‘city’ suit is ideally suited to informal business meetings in the west end or a smart yet hard wearing suit for people in the creative industries.
A variation on the same theme is provided by our Express Check suit, also in a grey Merino wool but this time with a subtle overcheck in space dyed Japanese cotton. The suit is cut in the London look with a 2 button jacket and notched lapels with a ticket pocket included in the three flapped slanted side pockets. The flat fronted trousers are cut with a clean modern line and look good worn with anything from shirt and tie to a roll neck jumper.
As the weekend approaches, it’s time to select something on the more flamboyant side for the imminent parties. Bold checks are of the moment and we have not held back on our Rizzi and Overdrive check designs.
For a crowd stopping statement nothing can beat our overcoat in the the Orange Overdrive check, the three inch scale burnt orange checks in heavy flecked Donegal wool resonates against the navy background in the most pleasing way. The long overcoat is cut with 4 covered front buttons and a wide notched lapel and features a welted top pocket and two flapped side pockets lined in a twilled silver. This is definitely a coat to open conversations if not doors or drawers.
We have used our dazzling Rizzi Check for a body coat as well as an eye popping three piece suit. As the climate gets warmer it’s often too hot to wear an overcoat with a suit so the body coat is a good way to sport the fun of a long coat in a relaxed way. The three piece Rizzi suit is cut with a classic notched lapel, 2 button jacket and a matching notched label waistcoat. When teamed with trousers the whole outfit will certainly amuse your friends, the pieces can of course also be worn separately to spice up stalwart wardrobe items.
