This cloth is 100% British, woven in Dumfries and Galloway, and the yarns are from the Shetlands islands.

Sunday night saw the most exciting glimpse into the future of electronic music. Talented musician  Imogen Heap has been pioneering the transformation of the human body into an electronic musical instrument. Imogen's song Me the Machine is performed solely by her producing fabulous ethereal sounds using gloves covered in the most advanced movement sensors and linked wirelessly to a computer. The real interest I find is the fusion with the telluric side of  Imogen seen by her singing and dancing bare footed on grass. The melding of traditional organic and high tech is definitely the future and an important aspect of Dashing Tweeds. So what better that designer Rachel Freire using the Raver designs for the electronic bolero and for us to dress the cyclists, who powered the event in our new giant Lumatwill stop signs, of which you will see more soon...

You've seen it here first. Introducing the Hanky Hat! A summer creation from Dashing Tweeds to celebrate all things East End. In anticipation of a hugely exciting British summer centred about the Diamond Jubilee and of course the Olympics in London's East End. The Hanky Hat made in collaboration with the Royal Miliiner Patey and is set to become the most desirable hat this summer. Watch this space...

We are always delighted to see the work of creative students. Cleo Prickett has really excelled in her ladies wear collection, she was delighted to use our Urban Check and New Dandy Blue cloth, and we are very impressed.

The Cresta Run was established in 1885 in St Moritz, and has a total drop of 514 ft. It is fashioned new every year using the natural contours of the landscape with tobogganists reaching speeds of up to 80 m.p.h, as they career down the run head first.

Charles completed the run, in a rather dashing outfit and in one piece.

To Florence for the Pitti Uomo menswear shows. Almost every conceivable men's luxury brand is on display, and with a view to showing we had a good look around. The double breasted suit made by Russell in the Teal Modernist made quite an impression with the numerous photographers blogging the event.

Just arrived, our beautiful new Shetland designs the Shetland Two-Step in green and the Shetland Jig in elegant grey. These most sophisticated new designs would make the most fabulous coat and they are entirely British, being woven from Shetland Wool.

How cool are these! One of the biggest collaborations we have done are about to hit the streets. Dashing Converse trainers. Even more exciting you will be able to buy them straight from us in a very short time. We will put them up in our ready to wear shop section.Now everyone can have something dashing for christmas.

Basking in the October sun, I thought you may like to see a preview of our summer suit. It's a cotton jacquard weave inspired by thoughts of a threadbare Robinson Crusoe. We will have the jacket as a ready to wear item next year and of course you can buy some cloth for your tailor to make a suitably adventurous creation.

The weave studio had a very busy season working with the wonderful Holly Fulton on her Autumn/Winter 2011 tweed, inspired by Chanel’s trips to Scotland and weave hero Bernat Klein. We hand wove the tweed for dresses seen here in our design studio. The studio also helped to develop couture hand woven fabrics for the Alexander McQueen A/W 2011 show in Paris.

On 16th March Kirsty presented at the Close to Home/Made in the UK meeting as part of a new All Party Parliamentary Group on Ethics and Sustainability in Fashion at the House of Lords. Kirsty was invited to talk about Dashing Tweeds policy of manufacturing in the UK to an audience of MPs and industry members.
