Last night saw the opening of the new Fashion V Sport exhibition at the V&A. A fashionable crowd tipped up to preview the exhibition and are greeted by a huge projection of Dashing Tweeds in action.

And can then view the cycle suit along with such excitements as a Chanel sequined wetsuit and hand etched leather trainers. The exhibition is thoughtfully curated by Ligaya Salazar and on till the end of the year. Well worth a vist.

The film for the show stars top triathlete George Garnier and was filmed with a special high speed camera.

A pattern was cut based on a vintage design from our collection.

The final fitting proved a perfect fit.

The suit was tested for comfort in the saddle, and Mr Fisher’s fine figure cut a dash in the Lumatwill creation.

Stirling Castle was abuzz last night as the fashion world flew up for the Scottish Fashion Awards. The prestigious award; Best use of Tartan by an International Designer included nominees Ralph Lauren, Dolce & Gabbana and House of Holland. We are very proud to have been involved with winner Henry Holland on the tartan design. Congratulations!

The gifted Erin Lewis offered a focused collection for her finals exploring ideas of urban identities. Her sharp cut lines were greatly admired by the judges at the London College of Fashion. Erin has kindly agreed to work with us on an exciting collection for Dashing Tweeds which will be available after the summer.

Josh Kilbride also from the London College of Fashion has had great fun with his updates of classic sports wear. Above can be seen the most jaunty of shooting suits using our vibrant peak design. A very pleasing and dandy outfit with all the practicality of a trusted wool worsted.

Thomas Rothery from Manchester Metropolitan University created an exciting collection which includes this cycle suit. As cycling continues its popularity its great to have top students exploring elegant ways to look good while pedaling to appointments.

Architect in the making Alexander Hills has just graduated from Oxford’s architecture school. Along the way he designed the Lumatwill Hoody. Alex’s perfect suit looks equally fine on the dance floor, biking to a luncheon or just hanging out.

Dashing Tweeds was pleased to participate in the show designed to promote sustainable transport in London. The show orchestrated by Hackney and Tower Hamlets councils was a great success and show cased The Man’s Lumatwill Cape prototype designed for us by Erin Lewis as well as the Ladies Lumatwill Cape designed by Jan Cicmanec and the cycle suit.

The exuberant Mr Holland asked Hills McDougall (the bespoke design element of Dashing Tweeds) to design his fashion tartan. This was a commission Kirsty and Guy relished, with Kirsty’s Scottish roots lending pedigree to the design.
