Davies and Son

Alan Bennett at Davies and Son enjoyed tailoring the Edwardian inspired summer suit in the New Wave tweed. Established in 1803 and the first house to tailor for the future Edward VIII, they certainly know how to create exceptional pieces. This can be seen in the Mr Fish inspired striped suit above. In addition Mr Bennett has been helping us work with top gradutes from the London College of Fashion to make our fabulous cape and circular cut cycle trousers.

Anderson and Sheppard

The most comfortable and elegant evening wear I have is from Anderson and Sheppard. This Savile Row house has dressed iconic Hollywood stars from Fred Astaire to Gary Cooper as well as members of  the current British Royal family. The signature cut is a high arm hole and softer tailoring around the shoulder. This gives great easy of movement which is  perfect for dancing among other evening activities. My beautiful evening suit in our Purple Spot is cut by head cutter Mr Hitchcock.

Graham Browne

This excellent city tailor is run by head cutter Russell Howarth who is capable of cutting any manor of suit. Our now famous cycle suit which toured all around the country with the V&A's Fashion versus Sport exhibition was cut by Russell and features action shoulders and elegant plus fours. The Dandy suit is my favourite wear for festive occasions and the needle cord facings are a  great success. Do look through our blog for many of Russell's other creations including the 2012 summer suit coming soon.

Huntsman

Perhaps the ultimate tailor for a man of action. Huntsman was the choice of Ian Fleming and hence James Bond as well as countless heros from Clark Gable to Lord Mountbatten. Famous for its one button coat (the correct term for a jacket) a Huntsman suit gives any man the feeling of a modern day knight errant. Here are two fabulous suits in our block design Lloyds Building for the day and Centre Point for jaunts at night.

Edward Sexton

Edward Sexton is without doubt the coolest tailor there is. Defining the look of  London's hippest from the late 1960's Sexton is an icon of style. As the cutter for Tommy Nutter, Sexton tailored  sculptured suits for everyone from Mick Jagger to Twiggy, and now thriving in Beauchamp Place  he is still one of the few tailors who can cut equally well for men and women. The suit in the Green Raver tailored by Edward is just so dashing.

Connock and Lockie

My best frock coat is from the most charming tailors Connock and Lockie. A favourite of Holborn's dandy barristers, Connock and Lockie combine old school tailoring excellence with gentlemanly flare. Well worth visiting at 33 Lamb's Conduit Street, London WC1N 3NG. Telephone 020 7831 2479.

Mark Powell

This sharp winter suit is beautifully tailored by Mark Powell and includes many signature details such as the high buttoning coat and dashing slanted pockets. Charles McDonald kindly allowed us to shoot him in his smart new whistle.
